Archbishop Advincula receives ‘pallium’ from Pope

Together with 41 metropolitan archbishops around the globe, Capiz Archbishop Jose Fuerte Advincula received the ecclesiastical vesment “pallium” from Pope Benedict XVI, today.

The ceremony took place at the St. Peter Basilica’s main altar in Rome.

The pallium is a white stole worn around the neck and shoulders over a priest’s liturgical garments.

The Pope said that the vestment manifests the spiritual union of the stewards of the Church together with St. Peter, the first Pope, and with his successors.
